The maintenance method of a precious sword

Wiping Sword (Knife): Use a pure cotton towel, velvet cloth, or deer skin to gently wipe off any remaining oil and dust on the sword (knife) body. Then, use cotton yarn dipped in a small amount of wiping oil to evenly apply the sword body. After three minutes, use the original cotton cloth to wipe back and forth for about 2-3 minutes, making sure that the sword (knife) body is warm. The purpose is to remove impurities on the blade surface and promote chemical changes in phosphorus and calcium, which will naturally add phosphorus and fill the fine pores on the sword (knife) body. At this point, it is important to concentrate and avoid being cut or poked.

Pan Sword (Knife): Place a long towel (a large towel is also acceptable) on the table, lay the sword (knife) flat on it, wrap a small wooden block (about 1 * 3 * 12CM) with cloth or wrap it, and use a flat surface to rub back and forth on the blade surface to make it slightly warm up. When wiping until there seems to be oil but no oil, apply a small amount of sword powder on the sword (knife) body, and then continue to rub for about fifteen minutes. Its function is to remove scratches and increase the speed of shrinking the fine pores of the sword body. The upward movement must be calm and composed, so it can be regarded as an excellent way to cultivate one’s character.

Apply rust proof oil: If the sword (knife) is not kept daily or the living area is damp, a thin layer of rust proof oil (gun oil, sewing machine oil, rust proof oil can all be used) must be applied before putting the sword (knife) back into the sheath to avoid contact with air. But if it can be regularly maintained every day, keeping the sword body smooth and shiny is actually beneficial for the cultivation of the sword, without the need for oiling.

Maintenance accessories: Use the original maintenance cloth or leather to wipe the accessories. To make the copper shiny, you can grip it with a cloth ring and then rotate it left and right with force. The remaining oil on the cloth can provide protection to prevent oxidation and the production of copper rust and chlorine.

Sword (knife) sheath: As the final step in sword (knife) cultivation, hold the sword (knife) sheath with the original maintenance cloth or leather ring, rub the sword vigorously up, down, left, and right, and make sure the wood generates heat. In this way, the oil inside the wood will slowly surface. After a long time, the surface of the entire sword (knife) sheath will be covered with a layer of wood oil, like a layer of glossy wax. Not only will it have a wonderful texture, but it will also only need to be wiped lightly in the future to maintain its shine forever.

Newly cast precious swords (knives) should be maintained once a day, at least every three days, and should not be left unattended for more than seven days. After one year of the above maintenance work, they should be maintained every ten days; Fifteen days after two years; Twenty five days after three years; It can be maintained once a month after four years.
